::Worst civil service. Need an appointment for everything and too many clauses. Seems like they wanna close their door to the public. Lazy bums. Waste of tax payer’s money. Better close it down.

::never been but i just want to congratulate them (according to sources) on having a fantastic time translating the names of their PMs, cabinet ministers and other dignitaries into chinese. it doesn't really work (very rarely sane chinese speaker can quite work out the english names through the chinese ones. but it's only because the translation is too good. it clearly rises above the mere search to match phonetically and arrives at an aesthetic pursuit by tapping into the chinese culture and tradition; the translation itself shames the efforts of the majority of chinese parents made in naming their children) thank you, to whoever is/has been/had been trusted with such undertakings, and i certainly hope you have enjoyed the process as much as i did deciphering it.

::I phoned to enquire about the 'minor problem' of being in Hong Kong illegally, due to the fantastic efforts (not) of the British Passport Office. They gave another number (faster than you could copy down) and explained that you had to pay for it. Hooray for the UK consulate, helping people out, when they just want to know if they are breaking the law or not!
