  Good English medium school with good facilities and Chinese curriculum, teaching IB at all levels. Goes from prep to grade 13.

  I've posted this before, but they moved it to some other page. AN HONEST STUDENT REVIEW! I was student of 8 academic years here, and my experience has varied over this period. Food is tasty, and cheap too. Quite healthy too, compared to outside-food. The food-catering company is Chartwells. Lunch breaks are 40 minutes long, while Recess breaks are 20 minutes long. A handful of teachers, if you have the misfortune of having them, are incredibly biased, and will mark as so, with their personal bias over-riding academic honesty. This happens a lot on opinion-graded papers, and is especially the case if you have had them for a number of (consecutive) years. There is a joke (grounded partially in reality) that some specific teachers are very harsh with male students, while being extra nice with female students. This may reflect in the markings. But that is not to say that the teachers there are inexplicably bad. There are good teachers around, who do care very much about helping the students. The bad teachers are just a couple of rotten apples in the bunch. Things like school camps are over-priced, with expenses for a typical week-long trip costing up to 5000 dollars, even if only a typical camping trip. The school spent quite an amount of money on building a fancy new Technology center. However, the wifi was still just as bad as before. Often, we would have issues in class with the internet, and have to wait it out as a class. The laptop programme is good. However, the ICT (technology staff) should not be trusted completely, because of unnecessary procedures done on some computers, including rumoured spying and tracking on student-owned laptops. There was even an incident in which over 50 students had an laptop issue simultaneously, in which they would not turn on. And who were the ones to fix the laptops? The ICT of course. Judge for yourself. There have been stories of teachers that simply didn't care about teaching in class, although I cannot verify that myself. In Physical Education class, I had to go swim in cold water during winter in the pool during our Swimming Unit. Some people, understandable, got colds. However, they still had to go swim. The school is great if the new students enrolling are in the Primary/Elementary section. However, if you choose to en-roll a student into the Secondary section, there may be some....issues. Do want you want, but do give it a thought.
