  Sometimes life is full of unexpected and unpleasant surprises especially when living with our beloved and aging parents...It happened to us 4 years ago. After the initial shock, our minds kind of went blank for a moment or two, then comes a string of things we must learn how to deal with quickly in order to help our loved ones recover as quickly as possible. That's when I thought about this little shop I see daily when the buses pass by on the way home (opposite St. Paul School), the nearest I could find and the first time I had to visit it and bought a few essential gadgets at one go (wheelchair, walking stick, walker, shower/poop chair) and rushed home in a taxi! Back then the salesgirl (a tomboy style girl in late 20s) was extremely kind and helpful and helped me carry those items down the stairs (no lift!), my maid was having a day off on that day(Sunday). I had never encountered anyone in our family circles who need to use any of these rehabilitation gadgets and naturally lacked adequate knowledges in how to choose the best and most suitable one. That salesgirl was very patient and answered all my questions. She even gave me a 10% discount by giving her the identity card number of my dad's senior citizen card. We went back to buy more gadgets and all the necessary accessories from them afterwards.
