::Doctors and most nurses are professional, though some may talk loudly when dealing with patients, appearing impatient. This certainly will not make patients happy, but if you think about the large volume of patients they have to care for each day, they might just want to be more efficient. Spending less time with each patient gives them more time to treat other patients and reduces other patients’ waiting time as well. I would say there are places for improvement, but given the limited resources and huge demand in an aging society like Hong Kong, QEH is doing pretty well.

::Doctors and nurses of the A&E in QE are very patient and nice despite all of them are very busy. Don't expect to have such good services in government hospital : )

::Outstanding hospital care. My wife was admitted at the Emergency section with severe pain in the region of her heart. The severity of her situation was recognized immediately and within minutes she was successfully catheterized. After this she spent 3 days in Intensive Care. We are most impressed and grateful for the decisiveness and professional care of all medical staff in what was an acute life-threatening situation. Although the hospital is clearly aging and the staff have to work very hard, the level of hygiene and care are outstanding. Wouter Meijer and Catharina Buijs

::I would have given it zero if there were a choice. Poor attitude of the Charge Nurse and front-line staff (doctors and nurses) in the Emergency Department. The staff I met today had no respect for patients at all, were very slack in treating patients. They will treat you as if you were a robot, a machine, all things but a living human being, only to buy them time to deal with as many patients as possible so they could finish they work. The system of managing medical cases is flawed, we all know that, but that's not the reason or excuse to blame. Their attitude is the problem. A system could be full of loopholes, but that doesn't give anybody the reason to mistreat patients, especially they are the ones to take care of people who got sick and are vulnerable. There are 5-star reviews out there, and there are also poor reviews for this hospital. You may not encounter the bad ones there (if you are lucky), but if you want to take full responsibility for your own health, you don't want to risk it! If the culture of bad attitude and arrogance is there in the Emergency Department, it simply won't go away with all those unprofessional and inhuman leaders lingering around. Choose for yourself.

::The doctors and nurses are great and helpful. They are very busy. Do not go there unless needed.
