The coffee was mediocre. The milk was not balanced well with the coffee and it was hardly a smooth cup of coffee. I think they are attempting to go for that “minimalist” vibe, with Australian influences (black plastic cover with the white paper cup) but that’s about it. So the environment was your typical hipster, Melbourne influenced stuff. The service was horrible. I usually don’t care about the service, because I just want a decent cup of coffee, but the taste in no way made up for the bad service. I asked the barista to pour my coffee in a take-away cup, and she looked bemused. Another barista came up to me and asked the question again, when she knew I wanted the coffee in a takeaway cup. She said, “So are you staying in or not?” And I said I was staying in. She said “well we usually don’t want people to stay in when they are using a takeaway cup, because it’s not environmentally friendly”. I said sorry, and asked if I should take my drink outside. She said I don’t have to. I understand that you are promoting environmental friendliness, and that’s the reason why I asked if I should leave. But was is so important to do it in such a pedantic way? She doesn’t really know who I am, and what kind of lifestyle I live, so she really had no right to dismiss me, a CUSTOMER, who paid a decent amount of money for a cup of coffee. If she thought it was so important to judge me and preach me by seeing me for the first time, then I guess she doesn’t care about her relationship with her customers, and it’s more about promoting a certain set of values i.e the minimalist and “environmentally friendly” mantra. So, I’m guessing this review will be negligible to this store, because the image outweighs customer relationships here. Once again, the quality of the coffee didn’t make up for it. I’m a person that would be okay with atrocious service, as long as the coffee is good.

Really cozy and smart location in CWB. Come for the coffee and stay for the atmosphere. You can easily bring some reading material and expect to not be disturbed. Will definitely comeback.

Lovely environment, reasonably priced coffee, I had the ice Americano, it's on the fruity sour side, just not my personal preference
