Disappointing experience at Dr Hugh's, the appointment felt rushed and didn't seem experienced with small mammals as promised on the phone. My guinea pig had an upper respiratory infection and they gave me antibiotics for 10 days only (recommended is usually 14 days). They also took a swab of sample to identify the bacteria. HOWEVER... they then proceeded to lose the sample and not inform me about this, whilst still charging me 440 HKD. They did not tell me they lost the sample until I had called back 4 days after to request the results, hoping I would forget. Then they said I could get another test, but had to pay for the appointment again for their mistake. Nonetheless this would be useless anyway as my guinea pig would have had 5 days of antibiotics already which would render the test pointless as the bacteria would have been reduced. Terrible experience as now my guinea pig has got worse and I have had to take her to Island Exotics where she has had to have Xrays, Bloods and multiple other distressing tests. They however have been very good. Next time, its probably best to research a little more before going to the first Vet's available.

Ok quality vet. Be careful of the guilt-tripping trick. One of the nurses was really unfriendly and unhelpful. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I am very grateful - my little hamster almost lost her leg and Dr. Hugh saved her!!! We were indeed worried that she might never recover but now she is healthy and prefers running all the time. Now her leg is as normal as it could be!
