Useless shell of an office. Bookings to be made a week in advance, and it doesn’t make a difference anyway because certified true copies cannot be done without evidence why you require it, and they refuse to do them otherwise.

Staff was friendly and plenty of seats available. No washrooms though.

I found it absurd that I had to justify as to why I wanted a certified copy of my driver's licence to the lady at the counter. If I am paying an exorbitant amount to have it certified, it is no-one's business what I am doing with it. At the time, I explained to her that It was for my superannuation fund. She then demanded to be shown an email from the fund manager stating that they needed a certificate copy of my DL. It is completely absurd to make such demands given that there's a disclaimer with their signature. I am not sure whether embassy workers are just trying to be antagonistic or if this is the typical abuse of power to show that they have some sort of authority. They took forever to get one of other 2 documents appostilled making us extend our stay for more than a week. They're also unable to certify a certificate of residency by the ATO because it had an electronic signature. As workers of an Australian embassy, they should know that, under the current legislation, residency certificates are issued with electronic signatures, as advised by the Australian Taxation Office. Complete lack of competence on a range of matters.

The front desk lady is absolutely terrible and rude. She speaks in a very impolite way and laughs & keep chatting with colleagues while I was filling the form. Worst experience EVER. ☹️👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Terrible experience. Both the security staff and one of the female staff serving at the counters are unbelievably rude...
